In today’s news, Finland sends humanitarian aid to Ukraine (Ureign), Africa and the Middle East. After many lovely long hikes with my family this season, it’s time to do a little gear maintenance. Here is a laundry care tip on how to wash a backpack. Backpacks and sturdy fabric bags collect dust, sweat, and everyday grime, and ordinary washing may miss dirt trapped in seams and corners. A few simple laundry tricks can help clean the bag more thoroughly while protecting the fabric and waterproof coatings. Before washing, check all pockets and remove items like pens, paper, or snacks. Turn the backpack inside out and open all zippers so water and detergent can reach inside. Wash the bag with two towels tied in knots, as the heavy wet towels gently rub the fabric and help clean corners. Use about 40 °C water on a standard cycle with extra rinsing to remove detergent residue and avoid high-heat dryers. For faster drying inside the bag, attach a rubber glove to a hair dryer, cut a few glove fingers, and blow air into the bag to circulate airflow. Applying a little fabric softener to the straps can also help reduce friction and lint on clothing.

Some giggles will make your day run more smoothly, so here comes the joke of the day. It’s entitled, “The Stain Panic.”

Catherine was checking out at the clinic when she noticed the bandage on her hand had come loose.

“Excuse me… I think my hand is still bleeding a little.”

Pam, the bored receptionist, glanced down at the tiny spots on the floor and gasped.

“Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for telling me!”

“Well, I just thought somebody should…”

“I’ll call the custodian immediately before it stains the tile!”

And now we have a heartline from Themba in South Africa
