These past few days, a sudden silence has befallen bustling Hong Kong, and people’s painful grief has been growing... Our fellow initiates, family members, friends, colleagues, shop staff, and strangers off the street all carried heavy hearts when discussing and quietly watching the catastrophic blaze at Tai Po’s “Wang Fuk Court,” Hong Kong’s most severe fire in a century. Everyone has been praying and hoping the fire would stop and the missing would be rescued! Because renovation work had been taking place in the housing estate prior to the fire, plus the dry late-autumn weather and strong winds, the blaze quickly spun out of control! Merciless flames instantly engulfed seven modernized residential buildings (once an exemplar of Hong Kong housing). Innocent residents were trapped instantly with no way to escape. Firefighters have been fighting the blaze courageously and trying to save lives. Yet, faced with severe human errors after all, there was nothing more they could have done!
Fellow Hong Kong initiates immediately brought Master’s Blessing Power and Love Power to the disaster site! We promptly made some calls and arrangements. Over 100 vegan lunch boxes and 500 portions of Loving Hut vegan cup noodles were redirected and sent right away to the on-site supply station for the victims! We deeply felt an overwhelming sorrow the moment we got there! But it was very touching to see units from all over town offering support and care one after another. Our fellow initiates played the Most Powerful Daily Prayer to bless the departing souls, hoping the manifold of Love would soothe their grieving spirits, and that Master would watch over them! Everyone is saddened by the double-digit increases in the death toll, which has surpassed 100 so far. But some of the missing individuals, along with about 300 cat-, dog- and other pet-persons, were rescued. This was Heaven’s Grace and response to the prayers. Also, it was thanks to the selfless dedication of the brave firefighters, who were willing to give their all, even sacrificing their young lives for saving others (including the animal-people)!
Master was very concerned about the disaster and repeatedly asked that day whether any fellow initiates living in the affected area needed assistance! With support from the community, relief efforts of the state, and messages of condolence from world leaders, the disaster victims have received ample supplies, proper care, and comfort! May they realize there is no permanent home in this world and soon seek the way Home, and that the fruition of karma makes no distinction between the rich and the poor, nor between places. Any “great prosperity” in this world can turn into “disaster” in the twinkling of an eye. May they seek the door to liberation before long! On the day of the fire at Wang Fuk Court, a large red-orange cloud appeared above Hong Kong. Legend says it’s the bridge that leads departing souls to Heaven! Compassionate Wing-Lam, We are also deeply saddened by this tragic event. This illusory world is only temporary and filled with suffering. Anything can happen at any time, to anyone. We must always be ready to depart this planet, for we never know which day will be our last. That is why we must seek enlightenment, because without liberation, our souls are lost and subject to the heavy karma of this physical plane, which spares no one. May this event serve to awaken the world and help people to realize they must seek God and love each other for life to be happy and meaningful. We are glad to hear that the Hong Kong community came together in a spirit of love in response to this terrible fire that took so many lives.
